Dear Patients & Browsers!!!

All too often it's the Doctor who gets all the information about the patient and the patient gets little information about the Doctor and her Practice. I would like to change that!

My name is Dr. Mary Adkins. I was born 8-10-50 in Nocona, Montague County, Texas - the youngest of four - 1 boy & 3 girls. My parents were Margaret & Elmer Adkins. I lived in 1 house my whole childhood. The first time I moved was to go to college in August 1968. I attended East Texas State U. 1968-1972, graduating with a BS in Education. I taught in Waxahachie & San Antonio.

I had several jobs before hurting my low back in December of 1988. I had a friend, Dr. Patrick Kimble, who was a Chiropractor. I had no idea what he did but I knew it involved backs! Mine HURT & I wanted it fixed!!! When I understood how much he knew & could help, I decided I wanted to do that! I took my first Biology course- AND HERE WE ARE!!!

I studied Chiropractic at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. I turned 44 August 10, 1994- and became a Doctor August 13, 1994!!! I moved back to San Antonio IMMEDIATELY. My practice opened officially November 19, 1994.

God chose me to enter the Healing Arts and I'm eternally grateful!!! The more I learn about the Healing Power God installed in my body, the more I want to learn how to effect it for health! I understand that most of the Health Problems folks bring to the office they have somehow caused. God has given me the skills to correct the causes and educate the patient to be aware of possible moves that might have caused the problem. I am grateful God has allowed me skills to help His people to feel, be and live better.

I believe with all my heart in the Principle of Chiropractic which is: The awesome Healing Power of the body can be interfered with in many ways. Through Chiropractic, that power can be released to FLOW!!! I believe with all my heart in how I practice and always strive to improve my techniques and myself. (Well, God is also busy changing my techniques!) I believe I give an excellent service for a fair fee. I want to help people to enjoy the priceless gift of better Health and longer life. I want you to continue to refer your families and friends to me because the medical alternatives they've chosen in the past haven't worked - they're suffering - and they deserve Health!!!

I established my office in San Antonio because this is where my heart is. I love the people, the weather, the multicultural diversity and San Antonio's ambiance!!! The purpose of this office is to provide our patients with the most comprehensive, body specific care and education available while fixing the actual cause of the Health Issue!

In my spare time, I like to Wildscape, hike, travel, visit friends and increase my doctor skills. I have a great time learning more about the awesome Healing skills God gave the body!
